What are Gig Buddies Group Social Events?

Gig Buddies group social events are hosted by the GB team so that all signed-up participants and volunteers in the Gig Buddies project can catch up and do fun stuff in a group setting.

Monthly group social events are held all over Metro Sydney and Central Coast.

The main focus of the Gig Buddies project is to "buddy-up" participants and volunteers so they can catch up and go to their own events together.

Gig Buddies group social events are a "bonus" way for participants to meet people and socialise.

All group social events are run as "not-for-profit".

Participants only pay for a group social event if they need to cover the cost of admission tickets, venue hire and/or catering.

Group social events are included* as part of being in the Gig Buddies project.

* participants pay for their own food and drinks  (unless a catered event)

Tell me about the entertainment: Silent Disco!! Back by popular demand, we're going silent for this year's festive shindig!

That's right, we'll be partying to the sounds of a silent disco.

You'll get a pair of headphones for the night with multiple channels of great music on offer! YOU choose the tunes!

We'll then round the night off with a live DJ set (no headphones). Expect plenty of bangers and the odd Christmas remix.

And no Gig Buddies' party is complete without our usual door prizes.

👕 And, for those wanting to snap up a last minute Christmas present, exclusive Gig Buddies merchandise will be on sale! To see our latest range, click here.

Tell me about the food: In our attempts to keep costs to a minimum, Gig Buddies will not be providing food at this year's party.

Instead, on the night attendees can order and pay for their own food from the venue. Check out the following link to see what's on offer: https://www.universal.sydney/welcome/eat-drink-mfb5e

Alternatively, attendees can grab a bite to eat at any number of nearby food outlets (Oxford Street has plenty to offer).

How do I get there? Universal Sydney is approximately a 10 minute walk from Museum Train Station, and buses frequently run along Oxford Street and surrounding streets.

Due to limited parking options, we recommend attendees either travel via public transport or catch taxis/Ubers.

For more information on public transport options and times, load up the following link: https://transportnsw.info/

How will I get home? Please load up the same link - https://transportnsw.info - for suitable options on how to get home.

Please note, transports to and from the venue is not supplied. Attendees are required to make their own way to and from the venue.

Parking options: For those wanting to drive, secure parking can be found at Goulburn Street, Sydney Car Park - approximately a 10 minute walk from Universal Sydney.

The flat-rate fee for parking after 5pm is $15. For more information, load up this link: https://www.secureparking.com.au/en-au/car-parks/australia/nsw/goulburn-street-sydney-car-park/
