What are Gig Buddies Group Social Events?
Gig Buddies group social events are hosted by the GB team so that all signed-up participants and volunteers in the Gig Buddies project can catch up and do fun stuff in a group setting.
Monthly group social events are held all over Metro Sydney and Central Coast.
The main focus of the Gig Buddies project is to "buddy-up" participants and volunteers so they can catch up and go to their own events together.
Gig Buddies group social events are a "bonus" way for participants to meet people and socialise.
All group social events are run as "not-for-profit".
Participants only pay for a group social event if they need to cover the cost of admission tickets, venue hire and/or catering.
Group social events are included* as part of being in the Gig Buddies project.
* participants pay for their own food and drinks (unless a catered event)
*this activity is for active Gig Buddies participants, support staff and volunteers only (we are joining a public event as a group)

Tell me about the gig:
Enjoy a Friday night movie together.
Depending on the start time of the movie, we might have time to grab dinner at the food court before.
I will update you once the movie timetable is out.

*There will be one Gig Buddies staff member and one group social support volunteer for up to 20 attendees (participants and volunteers combined). If you need extra support, please let us know if you plan on bringing a support worker/support person with you to this event.
When: Friday 10th of July
What time do we meet? 6:30pm meet approximately.
Will update you once we have the movie timetable.
What time does it end? 9pm approximately.
Cost: Movie tickets are around $22-25
* You will need to purchase your ticket before or on the night. They accept the companion card.
Please also bring money for any food , drink or transport.
Meeting spot:
Outside the front of the movie theatre.
How do I get there?
7 minute walk from Rhodes train station.

Food:
If we have time before the movie there is a food court out the front of the cinema.

Dress code:
Casual clothing. Bring a jacket / jumper since it sometimes get's cold in the movies.
What else do I need to bring?
- Money for food , drinks . ticket and transport.
- Ticket for the movie if you pre purchased.
- Don’t forget your Opal card if catching public transport.
- Phone for pictures and finding staff
Accessibility:
- Venue is accessible.
- I will update the movie details once we have it.
- There are areas in the venue to have a break if you need a place that is quiet for a moment.

How do I join? Register by getting a ticket from this page (click 'add to bag' in the top right hand corner and enter your details)
Please note:
- Attendees must bring ID.
- Gig Buddies staff will be in attendance, but will not be on hand to provide individual support.
- Getting there: Transport to and from the venue is not supplied. Attendees are responsible for making their own way to and from the venue.
- Getting home: Gig Buddies staff may help attendees with catching public transport, taxis or Ubers home - up until 30 minutes after the scheduled end; Gig Buddies staff are unable to assist attendees who remain at the venue beyond this time.
- Attendees do not need to be paired with a gig buddy to join us. All signed up participants with a current service agreement or volunteers who have completed compliance are welcome to join us.
- COVID-19: If you’re feeling unwell we ask that you do not attend.
- Participants who require extra support must let the Gig Buddies team know if they will be bringing along a support worker or family member to an event. Thank you.
