Keep on walking 🥾👣

Due to popular demand we are adding extra bushwalking dates to our social calendar.

Last Monday we revealed news about the bushwalks we’re facilitating between June and the end of August. A number sold out within days, while the rest are on the verge of booking out. Therefore, we have decided to add the following hikes to our calendar:

Location: Eastern Suburbs

Location: Sydney CBD

Location: Northern Beaches

In line with respecting the need to social distance, each walk has been limited to 11 attendees (including one Gig Buddies Sydney staff member). Attendance is free - click on the links listed above to join us.

And, as mentioned, we still have limited spots available for the following walks: Lane Cove Valley walk, Friday 7 August (6 places available); Cronulla Beach Walk, Saturday 8 August (3 places available); Hornsby Blue Gum Walk, Saturday 15 August (4 places available).

Eyes down

In other news, this week buddies are invited to join us online for virtual bingo and our ‘numbers, numbers, numbers’ quiz.

With regards to this week’s quiz, this is not a maths test - we are not going back to school! Rather, all answers are numerical. For example, do you know the year when Neighbours first appeared on Australian TV? Do you know how old Scott Morrison is?

To get involved in any of our socials, click on the event links below:

Thursday 25/6:

Friday 26/6:

The above ticket links will include information about what technology you need to join in. All Gig Buddies Sydney online activities take place via Zoom, while we’ve also written an easy read guide for Kahoot! - the app used for our 'numbers, numbers, numbers' quiz. Click here to read.

To take part in our 'numbers, numbers, numbers' quiz, buddies will need to access two devices - one to run Zoom and the other to enable the Kahoot! app. For example, buddies could access Zoom via a desktop computer/laptop and load up the Kahoot! app on a smartphone or tablet.

If you have any questions about any of our up and coming online socials or would like more information, send us an email: info@gigbuddiessydney.org, get in touch on Facebook Messenger or contact us via text or on the phone on either 0422 061 990 or 0412 145 819.

Volunteers ready to go

Our efforts to get more volunteers trained up continued this week.

Welcome to the team Amy, Eric, Serena and Sam (above, L - R). Thanks for coming to Gig Buddies Sydney HQ last Wednesday (17/6) - we’re looking forward to getting you matched up soon.

All paired up

And on the subject of matches, we’re delighted to welcome our newest pair to the family.

Say hello to Lewis and Jesse (above, L - R). We’re looking forward to seeing you out and about.
