“I enjoyed being out with people at a venue like Lazybones Lounge”

It’s always good to get feedback from our gig buddies.

Last Friday (10/3) we were fortunate to be given free tickets to Marrickville’s Lazybones Lounge where, playing on the night was Gig Buddies volunteer, Laura Attwood, alongside Sydney bands Psytanic and The Blindfolds.

After the gig we caught up with two gig buddies who attended, Georgina (left) and Adrianna.

Who did you see and where?

We saw Laura Attwood. She was great and mentioned Gig Buddies when she was singing. We met her and I told her how much I enjoyed her singing. We also heard the band Psytanic.

What did you think of the venue?

Georgina: I really liked the atmosphere at Lazybones Lounge and the food was delicious and a reasonable price. I only wish that there were more tables to eat at and more seating. There are quite a lot of stairs in the venue which may limit access for some people. I enjoyed it a lot and can't wait to go back.

What was the highlight of the night?

Georgina: I enjoyed being out with people at a venue like Lazybones Lounge. The music was fabulous and also finding the separate jazz/blues section in the club was an added bonus.

Apart from this gig, what have you two been up to recently?

The last event we went to was to hear Josie and The Pussycats at The University of Sydney as part of the Glebe Music Festival. We have also been to Kinokuniya Bookshop where we both bought some books and lunch in the Galleries Victoria, and had lunch and listened to jazzy music at the Sydney Rowing Club in Abbotsford.

What’s next for you two?

We are thinking about going to the Catmosphere Cat Cafe at Surry Hills because we both love cats, and we are looking for a music venue. We also want to do a cooking/arts course together and watch a live sports game, and also plan a return visit to Lazybones Lounge!

What would you say to other gig buddies reading this who may be interested in signing up?

Gig Buddies is the best initiative. It gives people the opportunity to meet new friends and experience music venues, events and places they might not feel comfortable going to otherwise.
