Four more to go

Following Saturday’s (14/4) volunteer training session we’re now in a position to pair up four more buddies.

Thanks to Sarah, Carly, Christine and Sam (L to R) - our recent batch of volunteers.

With two more training sessions lined up in May, we’re looking forward to increasing the number of paired up buddies.

And while it can take some time to pair people, anyone who signs up to become a gig buddy can attend our social events. Our trip to the Sydney Comedy Festival on Saturday 5 May to see Ciaran Lyons sold out within days (to other buddies interested in coming along, you can still join us for his Saturday night show. Tickets are available via this link: http://bit.ly/2qAghza), and we’ve recently requested more tickets for NRL games involving our charity partner, Cronulla Sharks.

In other news, during last Friday’s (13/4) user-led team meeting with Soul Fly Band, ways to mark National Volunteer Week were discussed.

Thanks to Lachy (top L), Stavros (top R), Fraser (bottom L) and Audrey (bottom R) who answered the question: Tell us one thing you’ve done with your buddy that you’ve never done before.

This year’s National Volunteer Week runs from May 21 - May 25, and we’ll soon be in contact with paired up buddies; last year we ran something similar and it was a successful way to pay homage to the wonderful contribution made by Gig Buddies Sydney volunteers.
