Some exciting news...

Soul Fly Buddies our user led advisory group nominated The Gig Buddies project in the National Disability Awards for the Inclusive Communities Award. We were thrilled to find out that we are a finalist.

Testimonials were shared by Soul Fly Buddies to compliment the nomination.

We would like to share Karen's testimonial. “I am a woman with autism, and my experience with Gig Buddies has been profoundly positive. Being matched with Lisa has been an incredible highlight; together, we've shared many memorable moments, including seeing P!nk in

concert. This experience stands out as a testament to the enriching and supportive nature of the Gig Buddies

program.

Gig Buddies offers a wonderful blend of in-person and online socials, providing a platform for connection andcommunity. As a member of the Soul Fly Buddies user advisory group, I meet monthly to discuss and address

issues related to Gig Buddies. This involvement has further deepened my appreciation for the program.

Gig Buddies is more than just a social program; it is a lifeline that helps people feel less isolated and more connected. I wholeheartedly believe in its mission and the positive difference it makes in the lives of those it

serves.”

And from Audrey:

"I have been committee member since 2015 and first one paired up. I love being part of it cause I when joined Gig Buddies is like a family with friends and made me feel confident and independent it’s like a whole New World because it’s about inclusion for people who are like me who have a disability."

Thank you to our user led advisory group Soul Fly Buddies for the nomination.

As a reminder, on Thursday 21 November we’ll be taking over the top floor at the Rose of Australia in Erskineville.

Expect a night of festive cheer, tasty treats and plenty of party classics at our Sydney catch up.

Then later that week we head to Kincumber on the Central Coast, stopping off at Shady Palms.

We’ll be meeting up for a bite to eat and we’re inviting buddies to join us as we celebrate the end of another year.
