Connecting with Coasties

Our attempts at recruiting more participants continue.

Last Thursday (27/5) I was joined by Gig Buddies Sydney service users Stavros and Jack, who along with project coordinator Bec (below, L - R) advocated for the program at the NDIS Networking lunch in Tuggerah.

Networking with likeminded organisations and individuals, we spoke about the accomplishments of the Sydney project and how we aim to replicate such successes on the Coast.

Later I was joined by both Jack and Stavros (below), who relayed their own personal reasons on why people should join Gig Buddies Central Coast.

Thank you to our Sydney-based advocates Jack, Stavros and Bec.

Where we’re at

We currently sit at 13 volunteers to five buddies. Excitingly, plans are afoot on making the project’s first pairing - more of which will be revealed in due course.

As for our volunteers, they’re scattered all over the Coast, from Pearl Beach to Lake Haven, with a number located in and around the Gosford vicinity.

Of those volunteers who are waiting, they span in age from 26 to 71, and we have ten females to three males on our database. Their varied interests are best surmised by the following graphic:

We now need buddies to pair up with our willing volunteers.
