Calling all craft beer and live music lovers. This Friday (21/6) we are holding a Gig Buddies Sydney social at Marrickville’s Gasoline Pony.
On the night Jo Fabro’s Home Cookin’ will be supplying the tunes, “bringing back the blues, keeping it low down and soulful”.
Gasoline Pony is located at 115 Marrickville Road, a short stroll from Sydenham Train Station. Doors open at 7pm and invites are open to all: to join your fellow gig buddies for a night of live music in the Inner West click here.
Swifts do it again
Continuing on the theme of social events, last Sunday (16/6) gig buddies attended our second netball outing - this time the Sydney derby between NSW Swifts and Giants Netball, played at Qudos Bank Arena.
NSW Swifts won a closely fought match 59 - 55, and gig buddies were front and centre once again thanks to Swifts’ principal sponsor QBE, who generously donated tickets.

More socials to go
And tickets are selling well to our other up-and-coming events, namely Cronulla Sharks’ game against Brisbane Broncos on Sunday 7 July, our Christmas in July celebrations on Saturday 27 July, and the wrestling on Friday 2 August.

Want to know more?
This forthcoming Saturday (22/6) Gig Buddies Sydney will be hosting an information stall at the City of Sydney’s Disability Expo.
Carol, Tony and Harri from the team will be on hand to answer your questions. If you or a friend would like to know more about the project, head to Town Hall. The event runs from 10am - 4pm.
A trio for training
Thanks to volunteers Sarah, Karla and Demetra (below, L - R) for attending last night’s training session.
It was great to meet you and we look forward to getting you paired up soon.
Bon voyage Bec
Lastly, we’d like to say a huge thanks and a fond farewell to our intern Bec, who has been working with us for the past five months.
In that time Bec has contacted many of our volunteers and buddies, providing a valuable resource in monitoring their progress.
Bec has also assisted at various socials, namely our 4th birthday back in February and our Middle Kids event in April.
We wish you all the best with your future studies.
