Happy National Volunteer Week

To mark this year’s National Volunteer Week we called on a number of Sydney participants to tell us what Gig Buddies means to them.

For those not in the know, the Sydney project has paired up over 330 buddies. The selflessness, kindness and all round generosity of Sydney-based volunteers has played a major role in helping tackle social isolation for many participants south of the Hawkesbury.

We now want to replicate those successes on the Central Coast.

Jack, Joni, Nalyn, Kirstie and Anushka have detailed why Gig Buddies Sydney is so important. To hear their stories, and to get an idea of what we aspire to achieve on the Coast, click play on the clip above.

Thank you to our Sydneysiders for taking the time to talk about the project’s benefits.

Let’s get physical 💪

Each and every week we invite participants to join us online for an event - and this Friday we’re hosting a ‘get fit with Gig Buddies’ Zoom session.

It’s time to roll out the yoga mat as we work up a sweat to a number of YouTube fitness videos.

Our Zoom session will last for one hour. We will be stopping for plenty of rests and will encourage attendees to “go at their own pace”.
