We have lift off….

The project’s first pairings are imminent. We’re on the verge of announcing not one, but two new matches!

Before the long weekend we held the first ever Gig Buddies Central Coast volunteer training session. Thanks to Kate and Nicolien (below, L - R) for joining me in Umina.

Prior to attending the training session, Kate and Nicolien firstly completed an online segment, where they were briefed on the history of the project and informed on why programs like Gig Buddies are required. Personal references were also supplied.

With training now taken care of, police checks will now be submitted - after which they’ll then be introduced to their respective buddies.

During that meeting, issues pertinent to the pairing are discussed: 'where will we go?', 'how will we get there?', 'where will we meet?', and swapping of contact details are just some of the things covered.

With all the formalities out of the way they’ll then look to catch up for around 1 - 2 times per month.

Come join the party

Applications continue to roll in and we’re confident of announcing more matches soon.
