Welcome Stephanie

We’re excited to welcome Stephanie, our newly appointed Inner West Gig Buddies Coordinator, to the team.

With a healthy stock of ready-to-go volunteers from the area (last year we reported having 145 unmatched volunteers based within the Inner West), Stephanie will be tasked with recruiting buddies to ensure we utilise the numbers at our disposal.

Stephanie brings sound knowledge of the local area and excellent relevant event management and marketing experience. Working on a part time basis, she’ll liaise with disability providers, local council members and act as point of contact for buddies and volunteers residing within the Inner West.

Here’s more from Stephanie:

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Gig Buddies team! I’ll be working mainly in the Inner West in Sydney creating community awareness of Gig Buddies, welcoming new participants into the program and pairing them with their perfect buddy.

Like many of our participants I love going out to the theatre, cinema, seeing a band or cheering on a sports team (go the Swannies!). Music-wise I listen to a wide variety of artists. Lately Disney soundtracks are on constant replay at my house and I can sing them all by heart! Moana and The Lion King are particular favourites.

My work background has been in marketing, business development and production for major events and festivals, and I’ve had the privilege of working on many iconic events like Sydney Festival, Sydney Film Festival, Biennale of Sydney, Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.

I love working with people to enrich their life experiences and I look forward to introducing new buddies to each other and meeting some existing buddies in the months ahead. Thanks to the Gig Buddies Sydney community for the warm welcome!"

Welcome to the team, Stephanie - we’re delighted to have you on board.
