🏉 The season that was

Now that our involvement with the Cronulla Sharks has come to an end for this season, we take a look back on the impact following our first year with the NRL champions.

When we signed with the Sharks late last year we had no idea that our partnership would coincide with an 18% increase in applicants (since the first Sharks Buddies game, against the Knights on April 1st, we have received 27 gig buddy and 45 volunteer complete applications). Nor did we expect to appear on TV, with the clip being viewed over 24,000 times.

As this season marked the first of three, we will return to Shark Park next year. In the interim we’re hoping to see Cronulla go back to back and defend their crown, and – just like last year when we launched Sharks Buddies in Miranda (on the day we were joined by Matt Prior, Jayden Brailey plus the NRL trophy, below) - plans are afoot for us to do something to mark International Day of Disability in December.
