Spreading the word

Our networking attempts continue.

Earlier today I presented to an audience at Autism Central Coast, informing those in attendance about the Gig Buddies project.

As mentioned in last week’s blog, we have a slight imbalance of volunteers to buddies.

Looking to capitalise on our numbers, those in attendance were informed about how our volunteer scheme can tackle social isolation and enable adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities and/or autism can partake in their passions.

If you’re an adult with a mild to moderate learning disability and / or autism and you’d like to expand your social circles, we want to hear from you. You can either head to our website, www.gigbuddiescentralcoast.org or click here to access our online application.

I want to know more

Additionally, if you or an organisation would like to know more about the work of Gig Buddies Central Coast, get in touch: we’re more than happy to come and talk with an audience. We can be reached via email: info@gigbuddiescentralcoast.org or call/SMS us on 0402 708 814.

Alternatively, you can also connect with us via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Hot off the press

This week we took delivery of our new volunteer and participant handbooks.

Full of information, tips and testimonies, we look forward to issuing these over the weeks and months ahead.

The power of the Companion Card

Last Tuesday (1/6) the Gig Buddies Sydney team hosted a Zoom information session about the NSW Companion Card.

They were fortunate to have Sophie Titmus, Project Officer with NSW Companion Card, lead the presentation. She informed attendees about the benefits of owning a card, while also raising awareness with those who may have never applied.

From a Gig Buddies perspective, we believe that the more people who have access to the Companion Card, the more opportunities participants get to head out and expand their social circles.

If you would like to know more about the NSW Companion Card, click here. Alternatively, if you would like to watch a replay of our information session, get in touch: we can be reached via email, info@gigbuddiescentralcoast.org, on Facebook Messenger or by text or phone on 0402 708 814.
